In recent years, environmental protection, social human rights and corporate social responsibility have received much attention. "Sustainable management" has also been a hot topic for major companies at home and abroad in recent years. When the bank thinks about the meaning of "sustainability" to us, we believe that the most important thing is to start from the core functions of finance. Therefore, we signed the Equator Principles and became the first Equator Bank in Taiwan to reduce environmental/social/governance risks and grasp environmental/social/governance opportunities. At the same time, we are also committed to optimizing the internal credit management mechanism and improving external services and products, so that the bank and the society in which we live can move towards a sustainable future together. This is what the bank believes is the most responsible approach to our customers who support us and the entire society.

According to the requirements of the Equator Principles, the signatory banks should classify the four major types of cases regulated: project financing advisory services, project financing, project-related corporate loans and transitional financing into three levels: A, B and C according to potential environmental and social risks, and conduct different degrees of environmental and social risk review based on the risk level. On this basis, customers with financing needs are required to manage risks and reduce the impact on the environment and society, and ensure that they abide by their commitments through contract specifications and continuous monitoring after loan issuance.

The Company will implement due diligence more strictly and formulate review and post-loan monitoring plans in line with the Equator Principles for large-scale project financing and loan companies with greater environmental impacts. It will manage environmental and social risks in a graded manner and continue to support and pay attention to environmental ecological conservation, energy conservation and carbon reduction, social resources, the continuation of important cultural heritage, and the protection of biodiversity and biological natural resources. It will play a role that takes into account the sustainable development of the economy, society and the environment, and hopes to become an international benchmark bank.
